Morocco

Morocco is a stunning country in the northwest of Africa. The country has both the Atlas and Rif mountains, fantastic cities, the Atlantic Ocean, and the overwhelming Sahara. The country is a perfect getaway in close proximity to Europe and Africa, as the country can be reached by ferry from Spain. Seeing the sandy dunes of the Sahara was one of the best things I have ever seen. Walk through the medieval medinas and feel the Aladdin vibe in all parts of the country.

Morocco has 37 million inhabitants, and the country is pretty densely populated. The capital is Rabat, but Casablanca is by far the biggest city in the country.

I was travelling here with public transport and went on two tours, and this was comfortable throughout the country. I travelled here in November, so it was low season and temperatures were perfect. There is never much rain in Morocco, but temperatures can be extremely high in the summer, so try to avoid June–August.

The country has something for everyone; food-lovers, city-trippers, history geeks, shopaholics, and nature enthusiasts can be very happy in this fantastic atmosphere. Morocco should be on your bucket list.
